(VOVworld) - The 19th ASEAN Finance Ministers' Meeting (AFMM) opens in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Saturday with the participation of representatives from 10 ASEAN countries and the ASEAN Secretariat.

Vietnamese Minister of Finance Dinh Tien Dung attends the meeting. Under the theme 'Our People, Our Community, Our Vision', ASEAN finance ministers and central bank governors  will focus on accelerating efforts towards realising the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) by year end.


Among main issues under the Roadmap for Monetary and Financial Integration for ASEAN are financial services liberalisation, capital account liberalisation, capital market development, payment and settlement systems, and banking integration.
Other significant areas of cooperation that will be discussed include enhancing regional surveillance, infrastructure financing - ASEAN infrastructure fund, customs matters, taxation, insurance, and financial inclusion.
