20,000 young doctors to join volunteer program for community health

(VOVWORLD) -One million people will be screened for diseases through an artificial intelligence platform during a community health program jointly organized by the Vietnam Youth Federation (VYF) and the Vietnam Young Physicians' Association (VYPA).

100,000 additional people will receive medical consultations and check-ups from the 20,000 young volunteer doctors participating in the program, which begins this Saturday and will continue until October. One million people will receive advice on preventing and controlling non-communicable diseases.

VYPA Vice Chairman Nguyen Huu Tu said, "local associations and clubs of young entrepreneurs and physicians will create at least one regular support program for people in need, focusing on ethnic minorities, freelance workers, and people in difficult circumstances."

The Vietnam Young Physicians' Association and AstraZeneca Vietnam are teaming up for the Digital Transformation Program for Lung Health in which more than 100,000 people nationwide will get X-rays and CT scans for lung disease screenings. Another million will be screened for lung diseases and cancer by sending their information and X-ray images to the AI platform.
