2017 HCMC – Gyeongju World Cultural Festival attracts millions

(VOVWORLD) - More than 4 million domestic and foreign visitors attended the 2017 Ho Chi Minh City – Gyeongju World Cultural Festival which  concluded on Sunday.

Ho Chi Minh City Mayor Nguyen Thanh Phong and Gyeongsanbuk province Governor Kom Kwan Yong exchange an MoU on bilateral cooperation. 

The 23-day event featured the culture of Vietnam, the Republic of Korea, and 17 other countries.  Some highlights were Korea’s Silla cultural space, a Bazzar cultural road, an exchange of Confucian culture, and a film screening.

Tran Nu Thai Nhi, a member of the organizing board, said: “The festival attracted a great number of visitors from France, Singapore, and Malaysia in addition to Vietnamese and South Korean people, helping them learn about the historical relations between Vietnam and South Korea. The event has helped the two peoples better appreciate each other’s culture and history.”

Before Ho Chi Minh City, the Gyeongju World Cultural Festival was held in Cambodia and Turkey.
