2017 Vietnam Film Festival to feature ASEAN film awards
(VOVWORLD) -The 20th Vietnam Film Festival will take place in Da Nang city in November, honoring Vietnam’s top movies and promoting the image of the Vietnamese people, culture, and traditions to the wider world.

The 5-day event, to take place between November 24th and 28th, will include free outdoor screenings of films, seminars introducing the ASEAN film industry, and an exhibition on Vietnamese cinema. The highlight of the event will be the ASEAN Film Awards, which will introduce the very best movies in the region and affirm the role of the cinema industry in strengthening culture and friendship among nations of the ASEAN community.
“We will invite judges from outside the Southeast Asian region. Each ASEAN state will send one film and the awards will be announced on closing night,” Ngo Phuong Lan, Director of the Vietnam Cinema Department, elaborated.
The Festival is expected to draw around 850 domestic and foreign delegates.
