40th session of the National Assembly Standing Committee closes

(VOVworld) – The 40th session of the National Assembly Standing Committee closed in Hanoi on Tuesday after a week. Concerning meeting regulations of the legislature, delegates agreed that it is necessary to continue improving the quality of National Assembly sessions and the effectiveness of the legislature’s decisions. Most of the delegates agreed that the National Assembly’s Secretary General should be allowed to decide if citizens could attend National Assembly sessions. Deputy head of the National Assembly’s External Relations Committee Ngo Duc Manh said: “The National Assembly House is where we practice democracy. I hope that the National Assembly House will help improve people’s awareness, particulalry among young people and students, of electoral regulations, democracy, and the National Assembly’s performance. I think that we should not limit citizens’ attendence at National Assembly sessions.”

Naitonal Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung asked relevant agencies to complete the draft laws to be submitted to the meeting of full-time deputies, scheduled for August 24.
