425 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed Friday morning, mostly in HCM city

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s COVID-19 tally has hit 24,810 as 425 new cases were added Friday morning, with Ho Chi Minh city recording the most.

The southern metropolis reported 350 new infections. The remaining cases were in 9 other localities: Long An (37), Dong Nai (15), Phu Yen (6), An Giang (5), Khanh Hoa (4), Bac Ninh (3), Vinh Phuc (1), Gia Lai (1), and Bac Lieu (1).

Vietnam has recorded community infections in 57 of its 63 cities and provinces so far in its ongoing wave of COVID-19. HCM city accounts for most patients, at nearly 9,500.

The country has vaccinated nearly 4 million people against the novel coronavirus.
