The event was attended by General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong, President Tran Dai Quang, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, and other high-ranking leaders.

The 3-million member Association is an active social and political organization of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. In the previous term, the Association encouraged war veterans to honor the tradition of Uncle Ho soldiers, participate in building and protecting the Party and administration, increase self-reliance, reduce poverty, improve living standards, and inspire patriotism in young people. Party leader Trong said: “The Vietnam War Veteran Association should continue to encourage its members to complete the top priority mission: protecting the outcomes of the revolution, contributing to defeating the plot of hostile forces to depoliticize the army, coordinating with members of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to practice democracy, participating in social activities, and following Ho Chi Minh thought, morality and life style”.

It is an honor and the Association’s responsibility to the youth”.
