850 representatives from 95 countries attended the forum in Moscow. Vietnam’s delegation is led by Minister of National Defense General Ngo Xuan Lich.

Particular attention was placed on post-conflict recovery and establishing peace in Syria. Special plenary sessions focused on security in Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America and security cooperation between military forces in those regions. “Soft power” was discussed as a tool for addressing military and political issues.

Vladimir Putin sent his greetings to the participants, saying that despite its military defeat, IS still has considerable destructive potential and the ability to quickly change its tactics and carry out attacks in many countries and regions. Other extremist organizations are also dangerous. The international community must consider all forms of multilateral cooperation that will consolidate the successes achieved against terrorism so far and prevent the resurgence of this threat.
