Activities to mark 70th anniversary of August Revolution, National Day, Vietnam’s diplomatic sector

(VOVworld) – On Friday, Vietnam’s Embassy in New Zealand hosted a ceremony to mark the 70th anniversary of Vietnam’s diplomatic sector in Wellington. Ambassador Nguyen Viet Dung reviewed major milestones in the 70 years of development of Vietnam’s diplomatic sector. He said Vietnam has established diplomatic ties with 185 of 193 UN member countries, founded strategic and comprehensive partnerships with 25 countries, and maintained economic, trade, and investment relations with 230 countries and territories around the world.

On Thursday, Vietnam’s Embassy in Malaysia hosted a banquet to mark the 70th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day in Kuala Lumpur. Ambassador Pham Cao Phong reiterated Vietnam’s consistent policy of independence, self determination, peace, cooperation and development, openess, diversification, and multilateralization. He said Vietnam has actively integrated in the region and the world and become a trusted friend and partner with countries around the globe. He expressed his belief that Vietnamese-Malaysian ties would continue to grow in both countries’ interests.

Celebrations were also held by the Vietnam’s Consulate General in Guangzhou, China, and Vietnam’s Embassy in Italy to mark the occasion.
