The bank held a press briefing in Hanoi on Tuesday to reveal its report on economic outlook in Vietnam and Asia. ADB Country Director Eric Signwick told reporters that Vietnam’s economy is expected to grow 6.3% this year and 6.5% next year.

The report says that Vietnam’s economic growth in the second half will be boosted by increasing foreign direct investment and exports, the strong recovery of the agricultural sector, and domestic credit growth. The report forecasts that Asia will record a growth rate of 5.9% this year and 5.8% next year.
