The city leader asked local authorities to strengthen surveillance in the community, and closely manage and supervise those returning from other provinces and cities to minimize the risk of transmission from pandemic-hit areas.

The Centers for Disease Control, medical examination and treatment facilities, and health centers of districts and towns in the city were urged to quickly take samples for testing for all cases with symptoms such as cough, fever and breathing shortness.

The Hanoi Department of Health should plan to ensure sufficient quarantine sites for 30,000 and 50,000 people, with priority given to outlying districts.
