Ambassador presents credentials to Portuguese President
(VOV) - Vietnam Ambassador in Lisbon Nguyen Ngoc Son presented his credentials to President Anibal Cavaco Silva on Tuesday.
At the meeting, the Vietnamese diplomat extended greetings from Vietnamese leaders and an invitation to visit Vietnam from President Truong Tan Sang. Ambassador Son briefed his host on the socio-economic situation in Vietnam and the bilateral relations. Mr. Son said in 2015, the two countries will celebrate the 500th anniversary of the first Portuguese voyage to Vietnam and the 40th anniversary of their diplomatic relations. President Silva in turn thanked President Sang for the invitation and hailed Vietnam’s socio-economic development over the years. He said he hopes relations between Vietnam and Portugal will grow and flourish in the future.
