(VOVworld) – A ceasefire was established in Donbass on the initiative of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.

They came out with a joint initiative to establish a ceasefire along the entire line of engagement beginning at 11:00 on Sunday. Success will depend on the actions of the Ukrainian side and its ability to ensure lasting compliance by both regular army units and radical groups of Ukrainian nationalists. Since 2014, the Contact Group on Ukraine has agreed on more than ten ceasefires but none has lasted very long with both sides accusing the other of breaking them truce.
