APEC Business Advisory Council opens in Da Nang

(VOVWORLD) - The 4^th meeting of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) officially opened on Sunday in Da Nang City with the participation of representatives from 21 APEC economies.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the ABAC Vietnam Hoang Van Dung informed delegates that this is also the last meeting of the APEC Business Advisory Council in 2017. At this meeting, delegates are expected to make conclusions on a number of contents of the 2017 APEC Program to hand over the presidency to Papua New Guinea in 2018.

High on the agenda of this event includes meetings of Advisory groups on finance, economics, and regional economic integration.

ABAC was established in November 1995 to advise APEC economic leaders and other APEC officials on issues of interest to businesses. ABAC holds 4 meetings annually with 3 of which held by other member economies and the last meeting taking place at the host country.
