Arab countries reject military intervention in Syria

Foreign Ministers of Tunisia, Egypt and Libya have announced that Syria’s political crisis should be solved within the framework of Arab nations and rejected any military intervention from outside countries. According the Tunisian News Agency TAP, the foreign ministers reached the consensus at a meeting in Tunis and agreed to increase judicial cooperation in the extradition of those who are considered threats to the countries’ security and stability.

In another development, Syria has welcomed a plan initiated by UN and Arab League’s envoy Kofi Annan to send experts to Syria to discuss the setting up an international monitoring mission. In a letter to the UN, the Syrian Government has affirmed determination to protect its citizens by combating terrorists and continue to seek peaceful measures for the current crisis via cooperation with Mr Annan.
