Art program features mainlanders’ love for sea and islands

(VOVWORLD) -The 12th "Spring on Truong Sa (Spratly)" special art program paid tribute to  officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Navy for protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea, islands and continental shelf of the Fatherland.

Broadcast on Thursday evening by the Military Radio and Television Center, the program included two parts "Truong Sa in the heart of the Fatherland" and "Spring on Truong Sa - A journey of connection and spreading".

The audience were treated to songs in praise of the sea, islands, and navy personnel, such as "The one-stringed guitar", "The sea and the moonlight", "Truong Sa is home", and "The country and the waves". In-between the performances was footage on the pace of life taking place on the Spratly Islands.

At this year's program, the audience interacted with officers, soldiers and people of Truong Sa island district through live videoconference.

The Organizing Committee announced six houses of gratitude, three houses and 20 gifts for the navy officers and soldiers and their relatives in difficult circumstances while performing their duties, as well as the people living on the Spratly Islands.
