ASEAN commits to consumer protection

To support the ongoing process of economic integration and building an ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), the ASEAN Committee on Consumer Protection (ACCP) has published an ASEAN Consumer Complaints leaflet. The leaflet contains information on hotlines and points of contact for consumer complaints in all ASEAN countries. Madame Mahani Tan Abdullah, Deputy Secretary General and Chairperson of the ACCP, says the leaflet was distributed simultaneously to consumers in all ten ASEAN countries in an effort to ensure better consumer protection. The information in the leaflet is useful not only to ASEAN consumers but also to for tourists who visit ASEAN countries.
