(VOVworld) – More than 500 ASEAN diplomats and their family members have participated in the ASEAN Sports and Family Festival 2013 in Geneva, Switzerland. As a rotating president of the ASEAN delegation to Geneva, Vietnam coordinated the festival’s activities on Saturday, which included sports competition and food delicacies.  Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vietnamese ambassador Nguyen Trung Thanh said this year’s message was solidarity for victory and that the gathering of ASEAN families showed friendship and sportsmanship towards an ASEAN community of dynamism, stability, peace and solidarity.

The participants competed in such games as football, tennis, badminton, table tennis, volley ball, track and field, bowling, golf and tug of war as well as competitions for kids, including drawing and music games. The food section featured specialties from various countries and regions.
