Delegates discussed building smoke-free cities and cooperation necessary to ensure a smoke-free environment between regions and countries. Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Viet Tien said: “Building a smoke-free tourism environment will promote green tourism and protect people’s health. We appreciate initiatives of the smoke-free campaigns in hotels in Malaysia, of smoke-free cities in Thailand, and similar initiatives from the Philippines.”

Vietnam has promoted non-smoking tourist destinations in Hoi An, Ha Long, and Nha Trang and other cities throughout the country.
