(VOVworld) - The 2nd Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) TV Song Festival 2013 took place in Hanoi’s Opera House on Saturday night as part of the ongoing 50th General Assembly of the ABU hosted by Vietnam for the first time.

There were music bands and singers from 15 countries and territories in the region such as Iran, Hong Kong of China, Japan, Afghanistan, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Malaysia and Indonesia.  Host Vietnam entertained the audiences with hits presented by star singer Van Mai Huong, and rock band Ngu Cung. Before a country’s performance, a video clip about that country, land and people, was screened.  The first ABU TV Song festival took place in Seoul, the Republic of Korea, in 2012, to boost cultural exchanges between member countries.
