(VOVworld) – 150 scholars, policy-makers, and senior experts from 20 countries gathered in Hanoi on Wednesday to discuss energy security and climate change and forge lasting partnerships to address these challenges. Director of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam Dang Dinh Quy addressed the annual Pacific Energy Summit entitled “Innovative Generation: Powering a Prosperous Asia”.  He said 'Asia – Pacific is the most economically dynamic region and has a rapid population growth. Thus ensuring adequate energy supply is not only a matter of the energy industry, but also requires synchronized cooperation among sectors of the entire economy'.

Quy said that Vietnam is trying to develop strategies on energy security to ensure stable supply, and balance energy distribution among areas and regions in combination with environmental protection.
