(VOVworld) - The Bac Ninh Festival 2014 opened on Saturday to highlight the national cultural identity and local historical relics on the way for development and integration.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam said that the festival will raise the cultural and historical values of the province while promoting the preservation of historical relics. Two local pagodas were conferred with a certificate of national special relic recognition. The festival takes place every 4 years since the Quan Ho folk singing was recognized by the UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
