(VOVWORLD) - The Asian economy is projected to sustain recovery, with its annual growth rate expected to exceed 6.5 % this year, according to reports announced Sunday at the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2021.
The reports said the Southern Asian region will witness a 9.7% growth this year. Effective pandemic control and production resumption in China and South Korea are key contributors to Asia’s bright prospect.
The report said in the pandemic context, Asian countries have, by all means, strengthened their healthcare systems, stabilized global supply chains, and led a recovery in trade and investment.
The report calls for Asia to play a leading role in ensuring a sustainable recovery globally, calling those that have controlled the COVID-19 pandemic to increase support to neighboring countries.
