(VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai says the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) has successfully implemented key research projects to create a breakthrough in science and technology application in the country’s mineral industry.

Hai spoke on the 40^th anniversary of the Institute of Mining Science and Technology in Hanoi yesterday. In order to assure mining output of 77 million tons by 2030 under Vietnam’s coal development plan, Hai asked Vinacomin and the Institute of Mining Science and Technology to develop mineral resources such as copper, bauxite, iron and precious metals and do more research on technology innovation and modernization of the mineral industry. The Deputy Prime Minister also asked the sector to boost consultations on science and technology transfer, especially in the production of machinery for the coal and mineral industry.
