Border localities celebrate Vietnam National Day

(VOVWORLD) - Border guards in Dak Lak province on Saturday organized multiple activities to mark the 78th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945) and National Day (September 2, 1945).

The Ia Rve border guard station and other agencies in Ea Sup district inaugurated the monument “Uncle Ho with border soldiers” which depicts border soldiers’ respect and affection for President Ho Chi Minh, the founder of the people’s armed police, now the Border Guard Force. This work aims to educate history and tradition to the border soldiers and people in border areas and encourage them to stay united and stay firm to defend national sovereignty and  border security.

The same day, the Yok M’re border guard station in Ia Rve commune, a volunteer delegation of Go Vap district, HCM City, and the local administration presented 170 gifts worth 12.5 USD each, 100 handbags,  and1,000 notebooks to local poor school children.

In Krong Na commune, Buon Don district, the Yok Don border guards and donors organized a mid-autumn festival for local children and presented 100 gifts to poor households and 1,400 gifts to local children.  

The An Thach Ba border guard station in Soc Trang province, the provincial Border Guard High Command and some agencies presented gifts to children in border areas and 2 charity houses to disadvantaged households.
