(VOVworld) – British Prime Minister Theresa May will trigger Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty next Wednesday to begin negotiations for Britain to leave the EU.

Reuters reported on Tuesday that the Prime Minister has told European Council President Donald Tusk he will be getting a letter which will officially begin the Brexit process.
Margaritis Schinas, a spokesman for the European Commission President, said preparations for the Brexit negotiations have been finalized. President of the European Council Donald Tusk wrote on Twitter that the EU will issue its first plan for Brexit negotiations within 48 hours after Britain triggers Article 50.
