Broadcasting services plan approved

(VOVworld) - There will be up to 80 TV channels by 2015 to disseminate essential information of Vietnam’s Party and State. The major goal was set in a plan for radio and television broadcasting services in Vietnam until 2020. Under the plan recently approved by the Prime Minister, radio and TV services will develop to serve political goals and cater to the growing demand for entertainment.  It will ensure healthy competition among pay-for-view TV service providers and prevent the rise of monopolies. The pay TV services are targeted to reach 40 percent of the population by 2015, and 70 percent by 2020.

To achieve these targets, Vietnam will step up public communications, refine broadcast regulations, attract investment, and improve service quality.
