Most Venerable Thich Tri Quang, Head of a branch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Committee in Ho Chi Minh City, said: “We are organizing activities to mark the birth anniversary of Lord Buddha. The program includes indoctrination, art performances, and worshiping rituals”.

A Buddhist Culture Week began at Pho Quang pagoda in Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesday to celebrate the event. A fair, a vegetarian cuisine festival, and an exhibit of 500 photos, calligraphic paintings, and sculptures will raise public awareness of the need to preserve the traditional cultural values of Buddhism. The Buddhist Cultural Fair comprises 29 pavilions introducing Buddhist scriptures, books, tapes, and disks. The Cuisine Festival’s 18 booths offer vegetarian dishes from across Vietnam. The celebration will continue until next Wednesday.
