This marked the start of a series of activities within the framework of the OECD – Southeast Asia Ministerial Forum 2023 that is taking place in Hanoi from October 26-27.
The roundtable and dialogue saw the attendance of representatives from agencies, experts, scholars, and businesses from the OECD and the Southeast Asian region.
With the theme of promoting sustainable investment, the delegates discussed the new trends, opportunities and challenges facing Southeast Asia and introduced policy recommendations and solutions to boost cooperation in sustainable investment between OECD and Southeast Asian countries.
At the two events, speakers, government representatives, and businesses agreed on measures to turn possibilities into opportunities and to promote bilateral investment cooperation in improving the climate change response capacity of businesses, especially SMEs.
They will also focus investment in green development, skills training and creating job opportunities in environmental protection; develop preferential policies for green economic development and the circular economy, while focusing on developing and applying science and technology in production to attract resources for sustainable development.
