(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc delivered his opening speech at the Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam Development Triangle Area Summit in Siem Reap, Cambodia, on Wednesday. Mr. Phuc said the three countries have had their roles enhanced thanks to stable, high economic growth despite regional instabilities and due to their close cooperation: “With the formation of the ASEAN Economic Community, the friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam has become closer and more effective. We have been together to overcome difficulties, seize opportunities, share benefits, and stay united to develop our economies. We should work for the people’s prosperity and happiness. At this summit, I can confirm Vietnam’s commitment to cooperation in the Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam Development Triangle Area and hope for unified guidelines to be developed to make the region more dynamic and thriving. Vietnam will do all it can to contribute to its development.”

Since its establishment 17 years ago, the triangle area's cooperative mechanisms have been strengthened considerably, contributing to enhancing links, ensuring security and political stability, and promoting poverty reduction and socio-economic development in the three countries.
