At a meeting to review the movement in Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesday, Vietnamese commodities have accounted for more than 95% of items available in supermarkets and 62% of municipal dwellers have preferred local goods. According to the city’s steering committee, in the future, Ho Chi Minh City will further improve the campaign’s quality attracting 80% of local consumers by 2015. Duong Quang Ha, President of the city’s Fatherland Front, calls for ‘increasing communications on the movement via mass media and social organizations. Enterprises themselves will also have to increase their product quality while state agencies should support Vietnamese producers in terms of state management to turn out high quality and not to violate WTO commitments.
