(VOVworld)- The Steering Committee for the Central Highlands Region held a conference in Buon Ma Thuot city, Dak Lak province on Monday to set out tasks for 2015. Politburo member and Minister of Public Security General Tran Dai Quang chaired the meeting. Minister Quang, who is also the Head of the Committee asked the central highlands provinces to ensure security for Party Congresses at various levels to prepare for the 12^th National Party Congress and major events in 2015. Minister Quang stressed the importance of strengthening coordination and inspection to promptly prevent attempts by hostile forces to secure socio-economic development and national defense in the central highlands region. He asked the Committee to work on measures to mobilize resources to upgrade the infrastructure in the central highlands and neighboring regions. On the occasion, the Steering Committee for Central Highlands presented 16,000 gifts worth 400,000 USD to local social beneficiaries.
