(VOVworld) – A ceremony was held in Quang Nam province on Saturday to mark the 140th birth anniversary of Acting President of Vietnam Huynh Thuc Khang.

In his statement at the event, President Tran Dai Quang said the late acting president set a bright example of patriotism, determination to fight for national independence and freedom, and wholehearted dedication to the fatherland. He said: “Following his example, each cadre and party member should be absolutely loyal to and consistent with the revolutionary ideals and put the overall national interest in the first place. Effort should be made to improve morality and revolutionary ethics against individualism, opportunitisim, and pragmatism. We should resolutely fight bureaucracy, corruption, waste, group interests, words without actions, and irresponsibility.”
Earlier, President Tran Dai Quang, former President Truong Tan Sang, and other leaders offered incense at Huynh Thuc Khang’s memorial house in Tien Canh commune, Tien Phuoc district, Quang Nam province.
