(VOVworld) - Senior diplomats from China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea have gathered in Beijing for a cyber security meeting to enhance trust and cooperation in cyberspace.

The meeting is the first since the establishment of the China-Japan-ROK cyber security consultation mechanism this year.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying told a regular news briefing on Wednesday that the participating countries presented their own cyber policies and institutions and discussed the norms of cyberspace and enhancing mutual trust.

They also touched upon combating cyber crimes, and terrorism and Internet emergency response cooperation. They agreed to hold a second meeting of the cyber security consultation mechanism in the ROK next year.
