(VOVworld) - China hopes all-round maritime cooperation with the ASEAN will become a model for building the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road. At a ceremony to launch the maritime cooperation year between China and the ASEAN, held Saturday on the sidelines of the 2015 Boao Forum for Asia, Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi affirmed China’s willingness to work with all countries involved to establish a win-win maritime partnership and strive for early progress.

During a meeting with Yang, Thai Deputy Prime Minister Tanasak Patimapragorn said Thailand advocates China’s "belt and road" initiative, adding that ASEAN members are interested in boosting maritime cooperation with China and the Asian connectivity.
