China reacts negatively to condemnations at Shangri-La Dialogue

(VOVworld) – China has reacted negatively to condemnations against it at the opening ceremony  of the 13th Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore on Friday, passing the blames onto other countries. VOV correspondent in China reported that Fu Ying, China’s chief representative at the Shangri-la Dialogue, and Chinese former Deputy Foreign Minister criticized Japan over disputes between China and Japan over the Senkaku or Diaoyu island. Meanwhile, in a short meeting with  the Japanese Defense Minister on the summit sidelines, Wang Guanzhong, Deputy Chief of the General staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army criticized Japan for violating international relations’ regulations without being able to provide any evidence to prove that argument.

Chinese Xinhua News Agency on Friday quoted Ms. Fu Ying as saying that recent tensions in the East Sea were caused by provocations of some countries while manifesting a détente with the US. She also expressed China’s hope to cooperate with the US to share regional common interests.
