China, RoK, Japan vow to reinforce cooperation

In a joint press release issued after Seoul trilateral meeting, the first time in 3 years, South Korean Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se, Chinese FM Wang Yi, and Japanese FM Fumio Kishida expressed their hope that the meeting will be held "at the earliest convenient time"..

According to the statement, in the spirit of facing history squarely and advancing towards the future, the ministers vowed to address related issues properly and improve bilateral ties and trilateral cooperation. They resolutely protested the development of nuclear weapons in the Korean peninsula.

The same day, at talks with Japanese FM Fumio Kishida on the sidelines of the trilateral meeting in Seoul, Chinese diplomat Wang Yi expressed his hope that Japan should take this opportunity to lift the historic burden to move forward to the future with neighbouring countries. In return, Kishida said Japan is ready to improve the relations with China on the same spirit.
