China summons US Ambassador to protest against US sanction
(VOVWORLD) -Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Zheng Zeguang summoned US Ambassador Terry Branstad in Beijing in protest against a US decision to sanction a Chinese military agency and its director for buying Russian fighter jets and a missile system.

China has recently bought 10 SU-35 combat aircraft and S-400 missile. The US State Department imposed sanctions on China’s Equipment Development Department (EED) headed by Mr Li Shangfu, after it engaged in “significant transactions” with Rosoboronexport, Russia’s main arms exporter. Mr Li Shangfu was blacklisted. They also block all his property and interests in property within U.S. jurisdiction. China’s Equipment Development Department is also list out of the US financial system.
