China, US to push back summit to April

(VOVWORLD) - A meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping to resolve their trade war won’t take place this month and is more likely to take place in April at the earliest, the Bloomberg news agency reported on Thursday.

Negotiators from both countries have been working toward a deal to resolve a bitter trade dispute. The Wall Street Journal reported earlier that Xi and Trump might reach a formal trade deal at a summit around March 27th in Florida, but Trump said on Wednesday he is in no rush to complete a deal.

On Tuesday, China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said President Xi is ready to continue meetings with President Trump.
