(VOVworld) - The second session of China's 12th National People's Congress will officially open in Beijing on Wednesday, Fu Ying, spokesperson for the session addressed a press conference on Tuesday.

Delegates will discuss comprehensive reforms, anti-corruption, foreign policiy, and national defense spending. With regard to the defense budget, Ying said the government pursued a defensive military policy which does not view any of its neighbors as enemies. Ying said the significance of strengthening anti-corruption work was highlighted at the 18^th National Congress and the third plenum of the 18th Party Central Committee of China’s Communist Party. Ying added that the reform of the country was one of China’s biggest tasks and the Congress would establish a legal basis for implementing the policy.  

20 press conferences will be held over the 9-day session. Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang will later chair a press conference after the closing session to report the government’s achievements last year and its future plans.
