Chinese Party, State leader’s Vietnam visit achieves significant results

(VOVWORLD) - The state visit to Vietnam by Chinese Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinping has yielded many positive outcomes that demonstrate the deep mutual respect between the two Parties and States and establish a durable, long-term cooperation framework for Vietnam and China. The remarks were made by Le Hoai Trung, Head of the Party Central Commitee’s External Relations Commission.

Mr. Trung said the visit reflects the deep respect of the Chinese Party and State, as well as Mr. Xi, for the Party, State, and people of Vietnam and the esteemed reputation of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

The two nations are committed to a community of a shared future that fosters the well-being of both peoples and promotes global peace and progress. During the visit, in addition to a joint statement, the two countries signed 36 documents spanning multiple industries, sectors, and levels, according to Mr. Trung.

"The visit provides an opportunity for us to foster a peaceful environment, particularly strengthen ties with neighboring countries, and bolster Vietnam's favorable standing in foreign affairs,” he said.

“Through this engagement, Chinese leaders and the international community will gain a more comprehensive understanding of Vietnam's progress in the renewal process, its fortune, potential, status, and reputation."

Chinese experts say the visit has revealed new prospects for cooperation.

Professor Xu Liping, Director of the Center for Southeast Asian Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, says the visit has yielded substantial outcomes, deepening mutual trust and advancing comprehensive, tangible collaboration between the two countries.

This visit has not only elevated bilateral relations but has paved the way for cooperation in new domains, Mr. Xu said.

“The relationship between the two Parties and countries has entered a new phase of enhanced quality and broader scope. I believe the signing of 36 documents is an outcome of President Xi’s visit which encompasses all aspects of cooperation and shows the depth and breadth of achieved results."
