Closing ceremony of project to reinforce border markers between Vietnam and Laos

(VOVworld) – The closing ceremony of the project to reinforce and upgrade border markers between Vietnam and Laos was held in Hanoi on Wednesday. The Prime Ministers and representatives from the two countries’ central ministries and border provinces attended the event. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong said the project is another vivid symbol of the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries in respect of each other’s independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and legitimate interests. It also reflects the consensus, mutual understanding and trust between the two parties, states, and peoples.

Marking the occasion, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Thoonglun Sisulith signed two important documents. They were a protocol on national border and markers and an agreement on border and border checkpoint management regulations between Vietnam and Laos.
