(VOVworld) – A training workshop for editors and journalists in southern provinces on communication guidelines to increase women’s role in the National Assembly and People’s Councils opened in HCM city on Tuesday.

Results of party congresses for the 2015-2020 term showed that the percentage of women’s participation in party organizations at all levels is higher than in the previous term. Vietnam ranks 4 in ASEAN in terms of the number of female parliamentarians. Bui Ba Binh, senior advisor at ActionAid said communication plays an important role in increasing women’s participation in politics. Trainees were introduced with basic approaches to promoting gender equality in politics.
