Conference discusses protecting children’s rights

(VOVWORLD) - A conference was held in Ho Chi Minh city on Wednesday to discuss ways to better protect and take care of children. Participants said the Law on Children has created certain changes in awareness and actions.

They stressed the need to thoroughly analyse the responsibilities of relevant parties in protecting the life, body, dignity, and privacy of children. 

Dang Hoa Nam, Director of the Department of Child Affairs at the Ministry of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs, said: “We have to fine tune the law, particularly judicial system relating to children and adolescents, of which special procedures must be ensured. It’s necessary to develop child protection services and a mechanism to coordinate the services.”
