(VOVworld) – Deputy Foreign Minister Ha Kim Ngoc is on a visit to Costa Rica to attend the Forum on Latin America-East Asia (FEALAC), scheduled for Thursday and Friday in the capital city San Jose. Mr. Ngoc paid a courtesy visit to Costa Rica’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Religion, Manual Gonzalez Sanz, and co-chaired a meeting for political consultations with Deputy Foreign Minister Alejandro Solano Ortiz. The two sides acknowledged the importance of holding bilateral political consultations and maintaining regular exchanges to increase ties both bilaterally and multilaterally. They agreed to cooperate in activities to celebrate the 40^th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties in 2016. They pledged continued cooperation and mutual support at international organizations and forums. Costa Rica promised to support Vietnam’s bid to become a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the 2020-2021 period, the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in the 2016-2018 period, and the UNESCO Executive Council in the 2015-2019 term.
