COVID-19 cases pass 204.7 million globally

(VOVWORLD) - According to worldometers.info, as of Wednesday morning, the world had recorded more than 204.7 million cases of COVID-19, with more than 4.3 million deaths.

The US is the country hardest-hit by the pandemic. The US State Department has lowered its advisory for travel to Canada to 'Level 2 Exercise Increased Caution', but raised its travel warning to level 3 for a number of countries, including Austria, Kenya, and Vietnam.

South Korea’s daily increase in coronavirus infections exceeded 2,000 for the first time since the start of the pandemic, jumping almost 50% in a single day.
The UK on Wednesday reported 146 COVID-19 deaths, the highest figure since March 12.
The number of new infections in Israel increased sharply, just before the first day of school, to more than 6,000 cases per day.
More than 61,000 cases were recorded in Southeast Asia on Wednesday, with Indonesia accounting for more than half.
