At a meeting on Saturday with the Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee, Bach Mai hospital, and health care experts, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam urged for all-out-efforts to suppress the outbreak in Bach Mai hospital, the most potential and complicated epidemic center in Vietnam. On Saturday, the hospital and its surrounding areas were disinfected while most of caretakers of patients in Bach Mai hospital have been sent to quarantine areas to prevent transmission. Nguyen Quang Tuan, Director of Bach Mai hospital, said: "Caretakers of patients were mainly in the areas outside the clinics so the risk of cross-contamination is high. In response to the instructions of the Government and Hanoi, we have worked closely with the military force to send 631 caretakers of patients to the Lang Hoa Lac quarantine area.”

Mr. Tuan said that the hospital has prepared sufficient, hygienic supplies of food for patients and doctors at hospital after its canteen closed due to some infection cases reported.
