CPTPP to boost Vietnam-Chile economic cooperation

(VOVWORLD) - The Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) will open up opportunities for further economic, trade, and investment cooperation between Vietnam and Chile, according to Vietnamese Ambassador to Chile Nguyen Ngoc Son.

Mr. Son told reporters that bilateral friendship and comprehensive partnership have progressed over years. The two countries have signed all necessary agreements including a free trade agreement in 2012, creating a firm legal framework for economic cooperation. Vietnam and Chile have established political and economic dialogues and held annual meetings to review their cooperation and set out direction for future ties. The Ambassador underlined open economy as an important factor for the two countries' closer relations.
