Granma, the mouthpiece of the Communist Party of Cuba and the biggest daily newspaper in Cuba, ran an article by Marta Rojas Rodriguez about the past struggle for national liberation of the Vietnamese people and the role of the late President Ho Chi Minh in the world’s progressive movements. Rodriguez is a retired reporter who worked in Vietnam and visited the southern battlefield.

Meanwhile, the Prensa Latina News Agency had interviews with Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Nguyen Trung Thanh and Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Lianys Torres. Both diplomats agreed that Party General Secretary Trong’s visit is a historic milestone in the Vietnam-Cuba relationship. The visit will tighten bilateral relations while opening up new opportunities for cooperation, especially in economics. Prensa Latina also published several articles to highlight achievements Vietnam has recorded in its Doi Moi (Renewal) process.

Vietnam and Party leader Trong’s Cuba visit also made headlines in Cuba’s major television and radio channels, dailies, and e-newspapers.
