(VOVWORLD) - A ceremony was held on Saturday at Lam Vien Square, Lam Dong province, to celebrate 130 years of Da Lat City’s establishment and development and receive the title of “UNESCO Creative Music City".

The celebration aimed to inspire the pride of a heroic city, a flower festival city of Vietnam, review the history of the city’s formation and development, and arise the desire to turn Da Lat into a prosperous and beautiful city.
At the event, a UNESCO representative in Vietnam presented to Da Lat authority a letter confirming the city officially become a member of the UNESCO Network of Creative Cities in music.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai said that the event has contributed to locating the municipal brand and promoting its image as an attractive, safe, civilized and friendly destination.
“The administration and people of Da Lat need to preserve and cultivate great national unity, maximize social resources, and take more drastic measures in investing in infrastructure development, especially strategic infrastructure projects, cultural, education, healthcare, digital transformation infrastructure to make Da Lat an important locality in the region and the entire nation as well as an important connection point with the region and the world,” said Deputy PM Khai.
He asked Da Lat to continue to promote its title “Vietnam Flower Festival City”, make the most of potentials and advantages to develop high-quality tourism, develop high-tech agriculture in a green, sustainable and environmentally friendly direction, and uphold its role in the UNESCO's network of creative cities.
